While Robert Reed has been working hard finishing the fourth installment in his Sanctuary series, he took a break to clean his musical palate. On this late 2020 release titled “Cursus,” he did something entirely different. He remarks, “At the age of 8 I was given two albums for Christmas, ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Tubular Bells.’ The latter defined my musical path. That same Christmas my brother was given Jean Michel Jarre ‘Oxygen’ as his present. Over the years, and especially of late, I have realized how much of an influence that electronic music has been to me over the years. From Jarre to Vangelis, from Ultravox to Depeche Mode, from John Carpenter to Tangerine Dream. This is the resulting album...” Featuring the voice of Les Penning (Mike Oldfield), Reed has embarked on an electronic synthesizer journey like no other release in his catalogue.
Released November 14, 2020.
