Gazpacho, often considered the reigning kings of atmospheric art rock, have return in 2020 with their new album "Fireworker." This subgenre is full of wonderfully moody, ornate, and emotional music. It is the exquisite baroque resonance and hypnotically introspective songwriting from the Norwegian sextet that never fail to provide awe-inspiring examinations of the human condition On their latest observation, "Fireworker," the follow up to 2018’s album "Soyuz", continues further down the path. It is undoubtedly among their greatest achievements, as well as one of the most profound pieces of music you will hear in 2020.
Conceptually, the album follows the band’s tradition of blending grand philosophical quandaries, stimulating literary leanings, and haunting personal turmoil. In a way, it acts as the culmination of the themes and techniques that has decorated earlier collections. "Fireworker" comes across like the overarching umbrella under which all of its predecessors occur.
The new album has been released on Kscope, and is available on CD, a gatefold 180g 2LP black vinyl (featuring 3 sides of audio and 1 side with an art etching), plus through streaming sites.
Released on September 18, 2020.
